Knowing what brush you need for what task will avoid breakage and make hair styling so much easier.

For example, a tangle teaser or wide tooth comb will protect wet hair.  A cushioned paddle brush will smooth dry hair and a round bristled brush will add bounce and volume when styling.

You should also make sure all brushes are regularly cleaned and have no split or broken bristles!
